For the first round of the new Second Division, while the big guns of the C and D-teams were fighting it out, the E and F-teams faced up for their first games.

We had ten players available so we bolted on an extra (unofficial) board to enable us to accommodate all of them. Eight of the ten were new to the club and we were delighted to give them the opportunity to find their feet under League protocols.

In the five games there were a couple decided by howlers but that it how it often goes. Some others were properly hard fought games. The match itself was tied 2-2 and that's excellent because it gets both teams off to an encouraging start.

Some of the games are available for members with a log-on to view.
