Well, we got there in the end.
That was a much tighter match than the score suggests, and Daly's Dangerous Downend D's were a really hard nut to crack.
The match got going with a remarkably un-Dufferesque performance by your captain in beating Tom Carter largely due to the occupation of the open c file.
So, 1 - 0 early on, but that's all we had right until the last few minutes with more than one game being likely to go either way.
Next game to finish was Aron vs Grant, which got to a position with Aron having R for B and 2 extra pawns plus a time advantage. Too complicated for me but Aron knew what he was doing, and Grant's clock finally expired with Aron pressing.
So 2 - 0.
Then after Elmira drew in a game that looked equal all the way, and Keith overcame David for 3.5 - 0.5, and the win was secured.
Dave then drew with Mike, and finally James succumbed to a very in form Jack to give the D's their sole victory of the night.
4 - 2.
Very tight, very close, and we wish Grant's D-team success all the way for the rest of the season, except of course in the reverse match against us in January.
